RESEARCH TECHNICIAN (AD#1199)

Pay Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on education and experience (D.O.E.).

Position Summary:

Biophysics hearing laboratory at VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) seeks a full-time research technician that is interested in the signal processing along auditory pathway. The research involves cochlear mechanics, middle ear function, and the generation of otoacoustic emissions (sounds generated from the inner ear, the cochlea), using in vivo animal model and in vitro approaches, cutting edge technology of optical coherence tomography, and computer language of Matlab.

Work with animals (e.g., gerbils, mice, and their tissues) and human temporal bones. Knowledge of general laboratory techniques (e.g., handling animals, keeping laboratory neat and clean, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in physiology, biomedical engineering, biological or biomedical science, or a related field.

Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, and work efficiently with others.

Previous laboratory and research experience, including in vivo animal surgery, 3D printing, optical coherence tomography, and/or application of Matlab will be preferred.

Job Location: Loma Linda, CA.
